[god. what a freakin' week. and they probably still had many more ahead of them, huh]
[at any rate, once the excitement from the trial and executions dies down, Milla begins her search for Sei. it's been a few days since her mine diving companion had been found in the church, and she thinks now is a good time to ask her about what she saw underneath the town]
[she already had Natalie's side of the story. she just needed one more]
[ANYWAY SEI WHERE YOU AT!! when Milla finds her, she greets her with a nod]
[Sei is supposed to be on strict bed rest but in typical fashion, she's not. Instead, she's hobbling her way around the town trying to find something better to use as a crutch than her katana because she has to stoop down to do that and ow her back?
...also the execution which can only end terribly regardless of how exactly things play out so i feel safe saying this has left her with quite a bit on her mind, and she needs to be moving to deal with that.]
Miss Maxwell... [Ah, right. She wanted to talk.] ...not great, but I don't think any of us are.
[That is a great idea. Sei can still sit without her missing leg impacting that, so she nods and... wanders off with Milla to find a bench or something.
[A BENCH OR A PORCH there are definitely places to sit. Milla keeps an eye on Sei to see if she needs help getting around, but since she seems to be doing well for herself, she doesn't offer just yet]
That's right. I already spoke to Natalie, so I know a little bit about what's down there. But she couldn't give me the whole story.
[mostly because she was too traumatized to, but you know]
I know there's a labyrinth of tunnels down there. Natalie told me it was a very. . . odd place. She said she saw herself through a window, passed by beds and food that tempted her to stop and rest, walked through a hallway covered in cat fur that growled at her, and then encountered. . . spikes.
[but she hadn't gotten Natalie to tell her anything beyond that]
[But not identical. She mulls that over for a few moments.]
I found a room with beds and food that encouraged me to rest, as well. I'm not sure if it was the same one, or... if it was just a similar one. But the other hallways I found...
[She shudders and brings one hand up to her neck, where there are still some faint bruises - strangulation marks.]
...hands came out of the walls in one hall. I... avoided them, mostly, until one of them managed to catch me. It... [She gestures uselessly with one hand.] I cut it off, and the wall... it screamed, like it was alive.
week three, sunday afternoon/evening/night idk

. . . no. I'd be surprised if anyone was okay after that trial.
Why don't we find somewhere to sit?
[so they aren't talking in the middle of the street while Sei is leaning heavily on her katana. sitting is probably easier]

Once they've done that, she sighs.]
...you had questions, right?

[Ultimately, she hadn't found much down there. Nothing useful, really. Or at least - that's how she had seen it.
But maybe she just lacks the perspective to interpret it properly.]
How much do you know already?

Was your experience similar to hers?

It may not be an identical experience to Natalie's, but it does seem just as surreal.
[growling hallways and hands??? in the walls??? WHAT THE FUCK IS DOWN THERE. . .]
It just makes me all the more curious about the labyrinth's origins.
