[Letter to Hannibal]

Dr. Lecter,

You were half right, but half wrong as well, presuming that we're on the same page about what you guessed. I wish we had found you sooner. Perhaps this game would already be over if we had.

Thank you for the services you offered everyone as a doctor. I don't think they balance out the actions you took as Deputy, but that gratitude is sincere. As is the gratitude I give you for wishing us luck. We have yet to give up, no matter what happens. We won't give up.

I've seen humanity at its worse. I've seen its selfishness, its blemishes, and the horrors humans are capable of committing against each other. Very little surprises me, even if it might anger me. I've always known that humans are, at their very core, selfish and flawed.

Even so, I must confess that at first I didn't understand you. I didn't understand Will either, although I spoke to him in an attempt to try. I'm not certain I truly understand everything, but it's a little clearer to me now. The power and influence you have over him-- over anyone else who comes to trust and rely on you-- it could have been used for something so much better. But instead, you chose to utilize it to twist and distort and poison instead of assist.

I can see now why you two are "soulmates."

And I can tell you with certainty that if it had ever been my duty and role to do so, I would have killed you without hesitation.

Regards,
Milla

P.S. I also would have liked it if you had said yes.
